County of Renfrew Paramedic Service Service Commitment Statement

The County of Renfrew Paramedic Service is committed to improve the quality of life for the residents and visitors of the community by providing quality service that is efficient, effective, reliable and safe.

Every request for Paramedic assistance dispatched through the 9-1-1 system or Community Paramedic Program referral process is responded to a by a qualified Paramedic in good standing with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and certified on annual basis by the Regional Paramedic Program of Eastern Ontario. Basic and Advanced Life Support is provided to our community by 130 front-line Paramedics and supported by an additional 9 qualified Supervisory staff who also maintain their annual certification status; the fleet consists of 19 Ambulance Vehicles, 5 Emergency Response Vehicles and an Emergency Support Unit.

The Service currently employs 70 Full-time and 69 Part-time Paramedics; 103 Primary Care Paramedics and 36 Advanced Care Paramedics who staff in a partnership of two, on a daily basis, 7 ambulance vehicles that provide 24 hour coverage and 3 ambulance vehicles that provide 12 hour coverage throughout the County. This service is supplemented by an additional 2 Community Paramedic Response Units each staffed by one Advanced Care Paramedic providing service in an emergency response vehicle. The Community is fortunate for the additional resources provided by the on-road Duty Officer also available to respond in an emergency response vehicle.
